1998 Inductees David Gates
 David Gates of Tulsa is an award winning singer, composer, and arranger. He is also the leader of the famous group Bread. His timeless ballads include “Everything I Own,” “Diary”, “Make It With You”, “Baby I’m-a Want You” and “If”. His “Goodbye Girl” served as the theme song for the Oscar winning movie of the same title.
Gates formed Bread in 1968 with Jimmy Griffin and Robb Royer. Ten top-10 hits later, Bread was a star act.
In addition to his successful work with Bread, he has had many top-10 hits on his own including his 1994 album release, “Love Is Always Seventeen”.Powered by Coranto
